Upon registering as a Clinical Psychologist in independent practice with the Health Council of South Africa, I entered into the private practice space and this is where my passion for working with trauma and supporting women with their mental health began to culminate.

My Therapeutic Approach

I take a person-centered and trauma-informed approach to the therapy process. I believe in building a collaborative and trusting relationship with my clients, allowing for a deep understanding of their concerns and their unique therapy goals.

I aim to facilitate a therapy process that enables you to address the root causes of your difficulties by processing and integrating past life events and traumas that may be driving your current difficulties. This may involve taking an integrative approach that combines aspects of various modalities, in particular, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and nervous system psychoeducation (Polyvagal therapy). I am passionate about the connection between mind and body and as a result my preferred manner of working is using a body/trauma-based therapy approach, being EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing).

EMDR therapy can help you understand how your past is affecting the present and addressing this so that you can strive to be the fullest version of yourself.
